MacGyver – Pilot (Season 1-e1-p1)

This is a list of problems have been solved by MacGyver. Demonstration of wit, who uses his knowledge of science, technology and outdoorsman ship to resolve what are often life-threatening crisis. His wit is normal tested in extreme circumstances, with little time or specialized resources with which to work. (Although it seems that often have a Swiss army knife and a roll of tape with him.)

Pilot

These operate at a wavelength of about 10 microns (far infrared) and therefore invisible, no matter the amount of smoke in the air. Also the wavelength of a carbon dioxide laser is readily absorbed by normal optical glass.

MacGyver plugs a sulfuric acid leak with chocolate. States that chocolate contains lactose and sucrose (C12H22O11 chemically), which are disaccharides. The acid reacts with sugars to form elemental carbon and a thick rubber residue. (Proven to be correct Myth busters)

When MacGyver needs to move a large steel beam blocking their path, cut the end of a fire hose, tie a knot in the hose, and run the hose under the beam. Then turn on the water and the hydraulic pressure in the hose causes the beam to lift enough for him to change off the road.

MacGyver creates a bomb to open a door with a gelatin cold capsule containing sodium metal, which is then placed in a glass container filled with water. (In the popular TV show Myth busters, which rebutted that this can be accomplished with the soda.)
