MacGyver – Pilot (Season 1-e1-p3)

This is a list of problems have been solved by MacGyver. Demonstration of wit, who uses his knowledge of science, technology and outdoorsmanship to resolve what are often life-threatening crisis. His wit is normal tested in extreme circumstances, with little time or specialized resources with which to work. (Although it seems that often has a Swiss army knife and a roll of tape with him.)

Pilot

MacGyver off a highly advanced nuclear warhead with a simple paper clip short the timing device, which stops right at the last second.

MacGyver makes a “booster rocket” for hitting a flare gun with a rock, launching him and a man who rescued off a mountain where he later releases a parachute and make a quick getaway.

MacGyver makes a “booster rocket” for hitting a flare gun with a rock, launching him and a man who rescued off a mountain where he later releases a parachute and make a quick getaway.

MacGyver breaks a pair of binoculars, removing a prism to deflect a laser beam back to the sender and destroy it. It also cleans the lens clean with your fingers. Time index: 21:00. As a side note, the episode states that the laser is a carbon dioxide laser. These operate at a wavelength of about 10 microns (far infrared) and therefore invisible, no matter the amount of smoke in the air. Also the wavelength of a carbon dioxide laser is readily absorbed by normal optical glass.

MacGyver plugs a sulfuric acid leak with chocolate. States that chocolate contains lactose and sucrose (C12H22O11 chemically), which are disaccharides. The acid reacts with sugars to form elemental carbon and a thick rubber residue. (Proven to be correct Myth busters)

When MacGyver needs to move a large steel beam blocking their path, cut the end of a fire hose, tie a knot in the hose, and run the hose under the beam. Then turn on the water and the hydraulic pressure in the hose causes the beam to lift enough for him to change off the road.

MacGyver evidence that he knows how to make a bomb or otherwise get through a solid wall with a rubber stick, through a sarcastic remark by Barbara Spencer. “Do not tell me you know how to make a bomb from a stick of gum,” Why have one? “

MacGyver creates a bomb to open a door with a gelatin cold capsule containing sodium metal, which is then placed in a glass container filled with water. When the gelatin is dissolved, the sodium reacts violently with water, causing an explosion that blows a hole in the wall. (In the popular TV show Myth busters, which rebutted that this can be accomplished with the soda.)

If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.

Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or two images. Maybe you could space it out better?

I have to say that Im really unimpressed with this. I mean, sure, youve got some very interesting points. But this blog is just really lacking in something. Maybe its content, maybe its just the design. I dont know. But its almost like you wrote this because everybodys doing it. No passion at all.

There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
