Fraidy Cat is a 1942 one-reel animated cartoon and is the 4th Tom and Jerry short, produced by Fred Quimby for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. It was released in theaters on January 17, 1942 and re-issued in 1952 for re-release.

It’s Christmas Eve and Bean decides to visit Harrods, causing his usual brand of chaos by behaving rather inappropriately while inside such a prestigious department store. After parking directly at the front of the store and harassing a man dressed as Father Christmas by pulling his fake beard, Bean proceeds to shop for Christmas decorations, subjecting them to his usual scrutiny—if it breaks, don’t buy it. He also tests some Christmas lights using the same socket used for the exterior Christmas lights, plunging the exterior of the store into darkness in the process. He then starts playing with the figurines in an in-store display, performing a rather inaccurate Nativity scene involving T. rex, 2 army tanks and a Dalek. The store manager stops him by putting a figurine of a policeman onto the set.

Ten-year-old Arthur has a lot on his plate: a real estate developer is about to snap up his grandma’s home–and there’s no way Arthur’s going to hang around for his parents or grandparents to sort out the problem. Maybe the solution lies in his grandpa’s treasure, which is hidden somewhere on the “other side” in the land of the Minimoys. The creatures that inhabit this world are just a tenth of an inch tall and live in perfect harmony with their environment. Arthur ventures into this world of the Minimoys, where he meets Princess Selenia and her brother Betameche. Together they set off to look for the treasure that will save his grandma.
